“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”  Albert Einstein

Aussie Cafe

Aussie Cafe was founded on April 25, 2015. Our purpose has always been simple: to create a space where anyone who’s been to Australia can relive their memories, and for those who haven’t, to discover a little of what it’s all about.

During my own travels in Australia, I once stumbled upon a line that stuck with me:

“Don’t try to be a successful person. Try to become a person of value.”

Back then, I didn’t even know who said it, but it inspired me to rethink what truly matters. To me, being “of value” meant sharing my Working Holiday experiences — the joys, the struggles, and the lessons. Many might say, “You could do those jobs back in Taiwan.” But the point was never about the type of job — it was about the courage to step outside your comfort zone, the fresh ideas that come with change, and the way a new environment lets you see the world differently.

And the biggest lesson? Execution. Once you’ve made the decision to leave behind what’s familiar and throw yourself into the unknown, you’ve already gained something invisible yet powerful: courage.

For those who’ve already been, I hope this café brings back memories of the journeys you once took and reminds you why you set out in the first place. For those who haven’t, I hope you find a moment of peace here — to read our story, to understand backpacking culture, and to get a taste of Australia. Since opening, I’ve had the joy of meeting people from all walks of life, listening to their stories, just like I did while backpacking. And that’s what I want this place to be: a space where dreams and stories can be shared.

As one quote says:
“If you have a dream, you’ve got to protect it. People who can’t do it themselves will tell you that you can’t do it either. If you want something, go get it.”
